Plastic Containers Saves You Money? PDF Print E-mail

Our house seems to be overflowing with plastic containers. Every time we threw one in the garbage we thought there must be lots of uses for these! So below is a listing of how we are now using our plastic containers:

- rather than buying plastic containers we now use our empty containers for storing leftovers.

- when we make spaghetti sauce, we make a large batch and freeze meal size protions in larger margine containers.

- Byron uses the containers to organize and store nails and screws in his workshop.

- my collection of buttons fit perfectly into these containers!

- the plastic milk jugs are great to cover seedlings that are just starting

-for starting seeds inside, plastic containers filled with earth and rocks at the bottom (for water drainage) make great starter pots

- we keep our seeds for next year's garden - they store great in a cover plastic container

- plastic milk jugs make great funnels, we cut off the bottom and put top in for an oil spout or for adding windshield washer for our car.

- we keep small plastic containers filled with water frozen in our freezer. Then when we go on picnics rather than having to buy ice, we just use the frozen containers in our cooler

- when we go to the ocean with our neices we always take a few, they are great for making sand castles

- when tole painting we use plastic containers to mix paint

Recycling and reusing your plastic containers will not only save you money, but also help the environment!!
