I want to start by wishing you all a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays! I hope you all are able to enjoy time with your families and stay safe!
Since it is Christmas, and as a continuation for some natural ways to keep your house smelling great and essential oil blends for winter, today I just want to share a few simmer pot recipes that will make your house smell all festive and Christmas-y!
Orange
- 5 – 8 cups of water
- 3 – 5 cinnamon sticks
- 1 – 3 orange peels / 10 – 15 drops of orange essential oil
- 2 – 4 tbsp cloves
Cranberry
- 5 – 8 cups of water
- 2 – 3 sprigs of rosemary / 10 – 15 drops of rosemary essential oil
- 1/4 – 1/2 cup of cranberries
- 1 orange or lemon peel
Apple
- 5 – 8 cups of water
- 2 – 4 cinnamon sticks
- 1 -2 sliced apples
- 2 tbsp fresh ginger / 10 – 15 drops ginger essential oil
You’re welcome to leave this in a pot on your stove or even make it in your crock-pot! Just leave it uncovered and bring your mixture to a simmer and the fragrances will start filling your home! Obviously, more of the ingredients will create a more potent smell. You can always start small and add more if you want, and remember to keep an eye on the water levels and add more as needed. Typically, the mixes last for several days.
