I’m a sucker for making your own supplies for around the house because it helps you control what you’re putting in the supplies, avoiding gross additives and chemicals, plus tons of mixtures use the same ingredients which makes it a much cheaper alternative!
Since we’ve already talked about some all natural cleaning supplies and all natural items for laundry day, as well as some things to make with coconut oil or lavender flowers, today I wanted to do a roundup of all natural supplies that you can make for the shower and bath! Here are 4 of my favorites.
1) Shampoo
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/3 cup castile soap
- 20 – 30 drops essential oil*
2) Conditioner
3) Body Wash
- 3/4 cup castile soap
- 1/4 cup carrier oil – almond, olive, jojoba, etc
- 2 tbsp vitamin E oil
- 2 tbsp raw honey
- 20 – 30 drops essential oil**
4) Bubble Bath
- 1 cup castile soap
- 2 tbsp water
- 1/4 cup vegetable glycerin
- 20 – 30 drops lavender essential oil**
*For oily hair, try lemon, bergamont or tea tree oil. For dry hair and scalp, try lavender, eucalyptus or sandalwood. Rosemary and sage are good options for any hair type.
**Test essential oils on skin for sensitivity prior to application. Chamomile is good for dry and sensitive skin, grapefruit is good for oil skin, lavender is good for most skin types.
Since these supplies use a lot of the same ingredients, you’ll end up saving a lot of money by setting some time aside to make these yourself!
Are there any shower and bath supplies you do yourself that I missed?! Share with me in the comments!
